Dr Jasmina Kevric is a specialist breast surgeon and academic, trained through the prestigious BreastSurgANZ post-fellowship program. Over two consecutive years, she held fellowship positions at Australia’s two leading comprehensive cancer centres: the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney. This elite training placed her at the forefront of complex breast cancer management, where she advanced her skills in breast-conserving surgery and aesthetic techniques aimed at optimising both cancer control and cosmetic outcomes.
Jasmina has contributed to national and international studies on axillary de-escalation, lymphoedema prevention, immediate reconstruction decision-making, and the impact of neoadjuvant therapy on adjuvant treatment delivery. She has also investigated fertility preservation in breast cancer patients and continues to advocate for greater awareness and support around these issues—both in the medical community and public discourse.
Jasmina’s work has been featured at leading forums including Breast Cancer Trials, Leura International Breast Conference, and the RACS Annual Scientific Congress. She has led or co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, and her ability to bridge surgical, public health, and patient-centred perspectives has positioned her as a respected voice in translational breast cancer research.
Beyond the academic sphere, Jasmina is an educator and public advocate committed to health communication and reducing disparities in cancer care. With a Master of Public Health and a background in health systems research, she focuses her outreach on increasing breast cancer awareness, screening participation, and informed decision-making—particularly in regional and rural Australia, where access gaps remain significant.
Her leadership and advocacy have earned her national recognition, including AMA Victoria’s Junior Doctor of the Year, multiple RACS and GSA awards, and invitations to speak on topics ranging from equity in surgical training to diversity and sustainability in healthcare.
But Jasmina is most proud of her family. As a mother of two, she leads by example showing that excellence in surgery, research, and leadership is not only possible, but more powerful when grounded in compassion, purpose, and personal integrity.
